The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of International Trade, today announced the appointment of Ajit Someshwar to the Board of Directors of Export Development Canada (EDC).
"Mr. Someshwar brings important experience in a number of fields to the Board of Directors and will make a key contribution to EDC's future," said Minister Emerson. "Mr. Someshwar also has extensive knowledge in risk management and information technology and is a successful global entrepreneur, which will add significantly to the continued accomplishments of EDC."
Mr. Someshwar, President and Chief Executive Officer of CSI Consulting, is an accomplished executive with broad experience in information technology and risk management. Mr. Someshwar is very active in promoting India-Canada trade relations and has served as president of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce in the past. He is currently the convenor of the Canada India Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that promotes relations between the two countries.

EDC's knowledge and partnerships are used by 7,000 Canadian companies and their global customers in up to 200 markets worldwide each year.
