Capturing the Impacts of Publicly Funded Research
What is the economic impact of research in the social sciences and humanities on the lives of Canadians? In partnership with the Canadian Economics Association, SSHRC presents a panel discussion involving accomplished experts in the evaluation and economic dimensions of research impacts. Panellists will include John Helliwell, The University of British Columbia; Abigail Payne, McMaster University; Brian Cozzarin, University of Waterloo; and James Brander, The University of British Columbia and vice-president, Canadian Economics Association. Celebrating 10 Years of Building Community-University Research
SSHRC's Community-University Research Alliances (CURA) Program is 10 years old! Come celebrate this groundbreaking program and its success in building research partnerships between universities and community organizations. The session will begin with a panel discussion on the impacts and future of community-university research partnerships, and will feature two successful CURAs. Each CURA team will speak about their experiences, as well as the impact of their research. A cocktail reception will follow, providing an opportunity for researchers to meet and speak with panel members and SSHRC staff. Open to all delegates.
