On Thursday, May 1, 2008, the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, and Kai Eide, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan, will provide an on-the-record overview of the challenges and opportunities facing both the Canadian and broader international mission in Afghanistan.
Senior representatives from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, the Canadian International Development Agency and the Department of National Defence will also be present during the briefing (not for cameras; attribution to senior government officials).
