OTTAWA – June 2, 2008 – Export Development Canada (EDC) today announced that several senior executives are taking on new assignments. Kevin O'Brien has become Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer and Stephen Poloz has become Senior Vice President, Financing Products Group.
Mr. O'Brien has been with EDC 22 years, most recently as Senior Vice President, Financing Products Group and brings to the position extensive financial leadership experience. He was formerly an executive with H.A. Simons and worked with the Bombardier family of companies.
Mr. Poloz replaces Mr. O'Brien as Senior Vice President, Financing Products Group. Working closely with fellow executives, he will be directly engaged in EDC's underwriting functions. Mr. Poloz joined EDC in 1999 as Chief Economist and has served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Formerly he was with the Bank of Canada and was the managing editor of The International Bank Credit Analyst.
Jim McArdle continues as Senior Vice President, Legal Services and Secretary with additional responsibility for Corporate Social Responsibility. Peter Hall is now Vice President and Chief Economist and reports to Mr. Poloz. Mr. Hall has been with Deputy Chief Economist at EDC for four years and has 20 years' experience in domestic and international economic analysis and forecasting. Formerly Mr. Hall was with the Conference Board of Canada.
