Saint-Ambroise, Quebec, June 27, 2008 – The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced $70,630 in repayable funding to the young firm Sublimart for the acquisition of equipment needed to launch its operations. This project will result in the creation of five jobs in the municipality of Saint-Ambroise.
Sublimart specializes in dye sublimation printing onto large-format fabric, an increasingly popular process for exhibition booths. It offers its customers an ecological visual solution that respects the environment and sustainable development. Its clientele mainly consists of Canadian exhibition booth distributors. Over the next few years, Sublimart intends to explore new niche markets to meet the specific needs of superstores and decoration boutiques.
"By positioning itself in a niche as yet untapped in Quebec and targeting the rapidly growing market of exhibit booths and fabric advertising, Sublimart is getting off to a good start and is giving itself the means to capture a good share of the market in order to ensure its profitability. Moreover, the young enterprise will help revitalize the community of Saint-Ambroise by creating jobs and keeping young people in the region, while contributing to the diversification of the local and regional economy," stated Minister Blackburn.
"By gradually lowering the corporate tax rate, the Government of Canada has committed to support small and medium-sized enterprises like Sublimart. This tax plan complements the new tools in Canada Economic Development's 2008-2011 Strategic Plan, which includes a measure aimed at supporting Quebec firms looking to improve their innovation performance," Minister Blackburn concluded.
