The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Minister for the Pacific Gateway and the Vancouver-Whistler Olympics, today announced the appointments of Jeff Burghardt and Donald MacLeod to the Board of Directors of Export Development Canada (EDC).
"Mr. Burghardt and Mr. MacLeod's combined expertise in the financial, legal and business sectors makes them ideal candidates for the EDC Board of Directors," said Minister Emerson. "I am confident that they will be great assets to EDC and contribute to its continuing success."
Mr. Burghardt is President and Chief Executive Officer of Prince Rupert Grain Ltd. and Chair of the Northwest Corridor Development Corporation. He has also served as an industry advisor to the federal and several provincial governments on a wide range of initiatives. He is a past director of the Western Transportation Advisory Council (WESTAC).
Mr. MacLeod, Vice-President and Senior Legal Counsel of Secunda Marine Services, a J. Ray McDermott, S.A., company, is a skilled executive with broad experience in legal and financial management. Prior to joining Secunda, Mr. MacLeod worked in the offices of several federal cabinet ministers on legislative issues.
