The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will be visiting Mexico, June 24 to 25, 2008, to attend the "First Encounter of the Finance Ministers of the Americas and the Caribbean" in Cancun. He will also deliver a speech in Mexico City.

Meeting of finance ministers will take place at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Cancun Hotel.
A media workspace at the Coral Sea Room on the ground floor at the hotel will be available from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 23 and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 24.

Minister Flaherty will speak at a breakfast hosted by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City. A media availability will follow.
The Minister will speak about how Canada's economy is positioned to meet the global challenges ahead.
The event will take place at Hotel Nikko Mexico, Campos Eliseos 204.
