OTTAWA, July 23, 2008 - The public warning issued on July 17, 2008 has been expanded to include additional product codes and information on product distribution.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sofina Foods Inc. are warning people with allergies to egg protein not to consume the various fresh chicken breast products described below. The affected products may contain egg protein which is not declared on the label.

These products may have been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg protein.
The manufacturer, Sofina Foods Inc., Bramalea, Ontario, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
