The Honourable Jason Kenney, Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity), on behalf of the Honourable David Emerson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will represent Canada at the Croatia Summit 2008 - Security, Development, Prosperity from July 4 to 5 in Dubrovnik.
Since 2006, Croatia has hosted a summit gathering leaders, opinion-makers and scholars for discussions related to the stability of Southeast Europe, focusing on NATO as the main security provider in the region. The emphasis of this year's summit is on Europe's economic development, prosperity and future policy toward its eastern and southern neighbours.
Secretary of State Kenney will deliver an address on Canadian perspectives on NATO enlargement, underlining Canada's enduring commitment to peace and stability in Southeast Europe and to NATO's role in helping to further these important shared objectives.
