OTTAWA, August 5, 2008 - The Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women and Minister for La Francophonie, today announced the appointment of Marlie Oden as a member of the board of Telefilm Canada.
"Ms. Oden's expertise, as well as her dedication and interest in the arts, will be a welcome addition to Telefilm's board," said Minister Verner.
Ms. Oden is currently working as a Managing Partner at Bridge Communica tions which offers a wide range of services, including strategic planning, marketing, public relations, and training and development. Her previous professional experience includes marketing and advertising for such organizations as the B.C. Film Commissio n, Eaton's and Tourism British Columbia
As an active member in her community, Ms. Oden sits on the boards of a number of organizations, including BC Borstal, the Stanley Theatre Society, and Theatresports.
