The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement on the bombing g in Tripoli, Lebanon:
"I strongly denounce the bomb attack in Tripoli this morning. My thoughts are with the victims and their familes.
"Violence such as this is unacceptable and must not be allowed to undermine the recent steps Lebanon has taken toward increased political stability and security.
"Canada fully supports the Lebanese government. We hope the people of Lebanon, as well as their political leaders, will unite to support efforts to investigate this attack and bring the perpetrators to justice."
