LONDON, Ontario, September 2, 2008 - The Canada Pavilion will be featured at the WESTERN FAIR from September 5 to 14, 2008.
"The Government of Canada is pleased to present the Canada Pavilion at the Western Fair this year" said the Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada and Secretary of State (Agriculture). "The Pavilion will provide an opportunity for Canadians and other guests visiting the exhibition to learn more about our great country and about our government's priorities."
This year's theme of the Canada Pavilion is the "Great Canadian North". Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about this vast territory, which covers a large area of Canada, through educational and visual displays such as an iceberg, a giant circumpolar map and the creation of an inukshuk. As well, visitors will be able to have their picture taken in a sea kayak.
Bravo, the Canada Pavilion's mascot will also be on hand to entertain the young and young at heart.
In 2008-2009, the Canada Pavilion will be visiting 10 communities across Canada. As the flagship exhibit of the Government of Canada Exhibitions Program, the Pavilion has won a number of prizes since its creation in 2000 and provided information to more than six million visitors in the Exhibitions Program's history.
