GATINEAU, Quebec, September 15, 2008 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) today announced the re-opening of the Kent Square Building located at 255 Albert Street, in Ottawa. All employees can now report to work, as per usual.
On Wednesday morning last week a complete power outage was experienced at the Kent Square Building due to damage to the main electrical system. The damage was caused by water infiltration in the building's electrical vault. Repairs were undertaken and the electrical system is now fully operational.
This leased property provides accommodation to approximately 722 employees of Transport Canada, Industry Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada, House of Commons, Public Service Agency of Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, Indian Residential School Resolution Canada and Infrastructure Canada.
