Ottawa (September 2, 2008) - OTTAWA (September 2, 2008) – The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, announced today the appointment of Eddie T. Dillon as Chair of the Northwest Territories Water Board.
"Mr. Dillon has extensive experience serving on a number of boards in the Inuvialuit Region of the Northwest Territories, and as a result has gained respect as a hands-on person committed to the well-being of Inuvialuit," Minister Strahl said. "I am pleased to support his appointment to the Northwest Territories Water Board."
The Northwest Territories Water Board provides for the conservation, development and utilization of water in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region in a manner that will provide the optimum benefit for all Canadians and for the residents of the Northwest Territories in particular. The Board was created by the The Northwest Territories Waters Act 1992.
