OTTAWA, Ontario – The Central Band of the Canadian Forces, along with members of the Air Command Pipes and Drums, invites the public to attend a Remembrance Week concert at the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place in Ottawa on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will feature soloists from the Central Band, one of Canada's leading military musical organizations. Guest vocalist and former military member, Jill Younghusband from Edmonton, will sing several selections. Members of the Pipe Band will add their unique sound to the performance.
"This Remembrance Week concert is a tribute to all members of the Canadian Forces, both past and present," stated Major Brian Greenwood, the Commanding Officer and Director of Music. "It is in recognition of the honour and dedication that is shown by military members who have defended peace and security around the world."
Please join us for a memorable and inspiring performance at the Canadian War Museum. This concert is offered free to the public. The Museum welcomes visitors to view the displays prior to the concert. Admission is free after 4:00 p.m.
