QUEBEC CITY- Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wishes to advise residents of the North Shore that harvesting shellfish in the areas described below is now prohibited for conservation purposes until March 31, 2009.
Prohibitions Orders No. 2008-Q-120 and 2008-Q-121
All areas from west side of the Pointe-au-Pic wharf in La Malbaie to the east of Pointe des Monts.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada is mandated to protect and conserve marine resources and is on the alert for poaching.
