OTTAWA The December issue of the Financial System Review (FSR) will be released on Thursday, 11 December 2008, at 10:30 (ET).
Several changes take effect with this issue of the FSR, most notably, the introduction of a section on risk assessment. This section represents the collective judgment of the Bank of Canada's Governing Council on the key domestic and international risks and vulnerabilities affecting the Canadian financial system. Changes have also been made to the layout of this publication. The first two sections now have a single column of text, and feature charts and sidebars identifying key messages. Finally, as in June, a separate highlights document accompanies the FSR.
This issue features the following articles:
- Credit, Asset Prices, and Financial Stress in Canada
- Fair Value Accounting and Financial Stability
- The Impact of Sovereign Wealth Funds on the International Financial System
- Liquidity Risk at Banks: Trends and Lessons Learned from the Recent Turmoil
- A Model of Housing Boom and Bust in a Small Open Economy
- The Role of Bank Capital in the Propagation of Shocks
- Good Policies or Good Fortune: What Drove the Compression in Emerging Market Spreads?
At 10:30 (ET), the FSR will be available:
