Gatineau, Quebec, December 3, 2008 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists that the Chaudière Crossing will be closed to all vehicular traffic and pedestrians in both directions until further notice.
Following a scheduled inspection of the crossing, Public Works and Government Services Canada was advised of deterioration in the masonry arches. Therefore the crossing will be closed for further investigations and repairs.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
