OTTAWA–Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and His Excellency Jean-Daniel Lafond will briefly visit the Republic of Slovenia on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, prior to returning to Canada on the same day.
Meeting with the President of the Republic of Slovenia – 10:30 a.m.
Their Excellencies will meet with His Excellency Dr. Danilo Türk, President of the Republic of Slovenia, at 10:30 a.m., at Brdo Castle.
Statements from the President and the Governor General – 11:45 a.m.
Following the meeting, the Governor General and the President of the Republic of Slovenia will deliver statements at 11:45 a.m.
In light of the current political situation in Canada, the Governor General is returning to the country. Her Excellency has been conducting a State visit to four countries in Central Europe since November 24, 2008.
