OTTAWA-The Secretary to the Governor General, Ms. Sheila-Marie Cook, has confirmed that Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will return to Ottawa on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. The Governor General had been conducting a State visit to four countries in Central Europe since November 24, 2008. This decision has been made in light of the current political situation in Canada.
