OTTAWA, January 23, 2009 – The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C. Q. C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the appointment of Roger Bilodeau, Q.C., as Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada.
Mr. Bilodeau has a Certificate in French Studies, Université de la Sorbonne, Paris (France), B.A., University of Manitoba, LL.B, Faculté de Droit (Faculty of Law), Université de Moncton and a LL.M, Duke University, School of Law, Durham, North Carolina. U.S.A. Mr. Bilodeau is fluently bilingual and is a sole practitioner in Ottawa. The Supreme Court of Canada is a high profile institution, at the top of the judicial branch of government in Canada. As the final court of appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada serves Canadians by leading the development of common and civil law through its decisions on questions of public importance.
