Calgary, Alberta, February 12, 2009 - Canadian Space Agency astronaut, Robert Thirsk will meet with media representatives for the last time before his six-month stay in space on the International Space Station (ISS). He will take advantage of this event to unveil his mission patch and explain the role he is going to play during his long-duration flight.
On May 27th, Thirsk will become the first Canadian to launch aboard a Russian Soyuz vehicle and to participate in an Expedition mission to the ISS. During his long-duration flight, he will conduct Canadian science and technology experiments, act as a robotics specialist and be responsible for the Japanese segment (Kibo).
