Montreal, Quebec, February 18, 2009 – The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) today launched a new national advertising campaign to increase awareness among entrepreneurs of the financing and consulting services available to them under the BDC brand. With the new positioning statement "Entrepreneurs first," the campaign aims to reach business leaders across Canada with the message that BDC is present in their region and ready to provide complementary support.
"Our research shows that although entrepreneurs in some parts of the country are very familiar with BDC, we still have work to do to increase our visibility in several markets," explained Michel Bergeron, Vice President, Corporate Relations at BDC. "We want to ensure that all Canadian entrepreneurs know about our services and BDC's unique mandate. This is especially important in the current context where entrepreneurs have to turn to more than one institution to find the financing and consulting services they need."
The campaign focuses on the unique passions, ambitions and needs of individual entrepreneurs. "The strength of our economy depends on our ability to support people who are putting their heart and soul into starting and growing their businesses. Our new positioning statement and the accompanying graphic imagery reflecting BDC's brand values convey the message that our organization is here to support entrepreneurs by offering unique knowledge and expertise and a caring, personal approach," added Mr. Bergeron.
The BDC brand and 2009 advertising campaign were developed with the help of Zoum Armada agency.
