ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, Nova Scotia, February 19, 2009 - On behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament (West Nova), today announced funding for the upcoming performance season of King's Theatre.
Thanks to this funding, the King's Theatre Society will be able to provide an eclectic and invigorating 2009-2010 program that will challenge, inspire, and educate audiences. About 45 multi-disciplinary performances and workshops are featured in the proposed programming, which is not only very diverse, but also includes a number of outreach activities.
"Our Government is proud to support organizations that bring arts and culture to Canadians," said Minister Moore. "The King's Theatre Society will be able to continue providing artists with opportunities to express their creativity, while enhancing the quality of life of Nova Scotians and stimulating the province's economy."
"The King's Theatre Society makes an outstanding contribution to the cultural vitality of this region, and I am proud to contribute to it," said Mr. Kerr. "This funding demonstrates the Government's efforts to support culture here in Annapolis Royal and across Canada."

We are very thankful that our government realizes the value and contribution that arts make to the community."
The Government of Canada has provided funding of $10,000 through the Arts Presentation Canada Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program gives Canadians increased access to the diversity and richness of Canada's culture through professional arts festivals, live professional performances, and other artistic experiences.
