Ottawa - February 23, 2009 - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has launched its third national recruiting advertising campaign. Featuring RCMP members performing day-to-day operational activities, this campaign truly demonstrates that the RCMP offers “a career nowhere near ordinary.”
The RCMP is recruiting 2,000 cadets per year over the next few years to meet increased demands for police services across the country.
The month long advertising campaign will run until the end of March 2009 and will include advertising through Internet search engines, entertainment sites, job search sites, and networking sites such as Facebook. Ads will also run on radio stations, be featured in career-focused and Aboriginal publications as well as in public transit vehicles and fitness centres.
Offering more than 150 different types of operational and administrative duties, the RCMP provides challenging and meaningful career opportunities for those who want to make a difference in the lives of Canadians.
The RCMP has more than 27,000 employees and provides municipal and provincial policing services in eight provinces (excludes Ontario and Quebec) and all three territories, as well as federal policing services across the country.
