OTTAWA, March 25, 2009 - The Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of State (Sport), today took part in the "Sogo Carry the Flame" Tour in Ottawa and celebrated Kate Jackson as the Ottawa area's first 2010 Olympic torchbearer.

"I strongly encourage all Canadians to apply to become an Olympic torchbearer and share in the enthusiasm and excitement for the 2010 Winter Games. The Government of Canada is one of the contributing partners in the Olympic Torch Relay, along with Coca Cola. The Coca Cola "Sogo Carry the Flame" Tour and its torchbearer selection program will enable communities nationwide to see the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch firsthand. This inspirational tour will encourage all Canadians to apply to become Olympic Torchbearers and to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle. The national tour will visit 25 cities.
