For immediate release
GATINEAU, Quebec, March 12, 2009 – Public Works and Government Services Canada today announced that it would re-issue the Request for Qualification as part of the tendering process for the new building project to bring federal services together in one location in Quebec City.
The proposals received in response to the Request for Qualification published in November 2008 did not meet the mandatory criteria. For this reason, a new, restricted Request for Qualification will be sent to four proponents who submitted proposals under the Request for Qualification.
A notice to this effect will be posted soon on MERX, the government's electronic tendering service. The project's parameters and geographical boundaries remain the same.
Construction of a new building to bring federal services together in one location in Quebec City is a priority for the Government of Canada, and we are committed to a fair, equitable process that is free of interference.
