Montréal, Québec, April 2, 2009 – The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as one of the Best Employers for New Canadians. The competition is managed by the editors of Canada's Top 100 employers in partnership with TRIEC, a non-profit organization with extensive experience in immigrant-employer issues. BDC was selected for recognizing international credentials, broadening hiring sources and creating inclusive workplaces.
"This recognition is a source of pride for us," says Mary Karamanos, BDC Senior Vice-President, Human Resources. "We have always believed that creating a diverse environment simply makes good business sense. A more diverse workforce brings added energy and creativity to our organization and helps us reach out to clients across all spectrums of Canadian society."
After a nation-wide competition, BDC received this award for the second consecutive year in recognition of the interesting programs it offers to assist new Canadians in making the transition to a new workplace and a new life in Canada.
