A public funeral is scheduled for the newborn baby boy who was discovered on April 4, 2009 the Taylor Road near Salisbury, N.B.
The RCMP continues to investigate to determine the identity of the baby but so far the case remains unsolved. The baby is legally known as Baby Boy Doe but has affectionately become known as Baby Taylor based on the name of the road where he was found.
A non-denominational funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street in Dieppe on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11 a.m. RCMP members from District 11 Caledonia where the baby was discovered will carry the casket. The baby will later be buried at the Mount Eagle Cemetery near where his body was discovered. The Funeral Home has offered to cover all costs associated with the funeral. Any funds donated by the public will go towards the cost of a tombstone. If there are excess funds they will go to the obstetrics units of the Moncton Hospital and the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton in memory of Baby Taylor.
Members of the public are invited to attend the funeral service for Baby Taylor. Members of the media may also attend but those who wish to do so are asked to contact Cpl. Martin Marin as soon as possible to ensure proper accommodations are made.
