OTTAWA-Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada and Chief Scout, will present a series of awards to the Association des scouts du Canada at Rideau Hall, on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 10 a.m.
The Governor General will present awards to two groups of young recipients as well as to
26 individual members of the Association des scouts du Canada. The General Roméo Dallaire Award for scouts will be presented for the first time. One of the highest honours of the scouting movement, this award recognizes young people, 14 years of age and above, who have successfully completed exceptional projects that promote peace, equity and harmony between women and men, generations and peoples.
