OTTAWA, April 18, 2009 - The following public advisory was issued by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) on April 14, 2009.
On April 18, 2009, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) confirmed that one of the affected products, Adar brand Sliced Smoked Salmon, 400g, bearing UPC 0 62451 00123 4 and a best before date up to and including April 24, 2009, was also sold at the following Costco stores:
Quebec, April 14, 2009 - The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), in consultation with the Division de l’inspection des aliments de la Ville de Montréal and the Compagnie nationale d’importation de harengs Ltée, located at 9820 Ray-Lawson Blvd in Anjou, is warning people not to consume the products described below. The best before date on these products is incorrect and they may not be safe to eat.
The products affected by this alert bear a best before date up to and including April 24, 2009, as well as the brand name “ADAR”. They were sold in various sizes in different regions of Quebec.

- Sliced Smoked Salmon / Saumon fumé tranché
The company is voluntarily recalling the affected products and has agreed, with MAPAQ and the Division de l’inspection des aliments de la Ville de Montréal, to release this alert as a precautionary measure. Consumers who have these products in their possession should not consume them and should either return them to the point of purchase or throw them out.
