QUÉBEC - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, reports that on May 6, Justice Jean-Paul Décoste sentenced Yvon Chevarie, of Havre-aux-Maisons, to a fine of $750 for failing to comply with the conditions of his lobster licence by starting activities before 5:00 a.m.
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources and is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
