QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of North Shore Area fishers fined by Judge Louise Gallant in May 2009 for various violationsof the Fisheries Act.
The total amount of the fines imposed on the fishers is $2,900, plus a scallop licence suspension for the period from July 15 to October 30, 2009. The offenders are:
The Department has a mandate to protect and conserve fishery resources and is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent poaching of marine resources.
