Longueuil, Quebec, July 22, 2009 - Media representatives are invited to the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) for the only opportunity to film in the mission control room during the current mission STS-127 operations.
Mission controllers are experienced engineers who guide astronauts and monitor all systems and activities aboard the Space Shuttle or the International Space Station. They send commands directly to the spacecraft, helping astronauts with some of their responsibilities. Providing round-the-clock support, they analyze complex situations, often under pressure. Once they have considered all factors and consulted their team members, they must develop solutions to problems quickly.
*B-roll and audio of the CSA mission control room operations will also be made available to interested media via the ftp site listed below.
