KINGSTON, Ont. – Media are invited to attend the change of command ceremony at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) on Friday, July 17, 2009. Brigadier-General Tom Lawson will relinquish command of the RMC to Commodore William Truelove.
The Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy, Major-General Daniel Gosselin, will preside over the ceremony.
What: Change of Command ceremony, Royal Military College of Canada
Where: Royal Military College Parade Square, Kingston, Ont.
When: Friday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m.. (Spectators are asked to be seated by 10:50 a.m.)
Commodore Truelove will be available to take questions following the ceremony.
Brigadier-General Lawson is being promoted to Major-General and posted to Ottawa as the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff. Commodore Truelove is Special Assistant to the Chief of the Defence Staff.
Established in 1874, RMC has earned a reputation of service and achievement through its graduates, throughout the world. From the North West Rebellion of 1885 to operations in Afghanistan, the graduates of RMC have continually distinguished themselves in service to their country.
