OTTAWA – The Department of National Defence – in collaboration with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Industry Canada and Public Works and Government Services Canada – invites media to attend both the opening and closing sessions of the Government Shipbuilding Consultation. Media are invited to attend the following:
Opening Remarks.
Media are invited to attend opening remarks by:
- The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence and Minister of the Atlantic Gateway;
- The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans;
- The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry;
- The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Public Works and Government Services;
- The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries; and,
- The Shipbuilding Association of Canada.
A media availability with the four Ministers will follow the opening session in an adjacent location in the building.
Closing Session.
Media are invited to attend the closing session at the forum. Media interviews with subject matter experts will be arranged, by demand, at the location.

Media are asked to arrive at the Palais des Congrès at 12:00 p.m. on July 27th, and 11:00 a.m. on July 28th. Proper media identification will be required to gain access.
