GATINEAU, Quebec, July 31, 2009 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists, pedestrians and cyclists that the sidewalk next to the Gatineau-bound lanes of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will remain closed all weekend and until the work is completed on Wednesday, August 5.
In addition, the Gatineau-bound lane directly adjacent to the sidewalk of the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, and on Wednesday, August 5.
During these closures, the sidewalk next to the Ottawa-bound lanes of the bridge will remain open to pedestrians.
The schedule may change due to inclement weather. These closures are necessary to conduct general maintenance on the sidewalk.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
