Vancouver, July 10, 2009 - 30 immigrants representing 13 different countries will be sworn in as Canadian citizens at a citizenship ceremony attended by Dr. Alice Wong, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism.
The ceremony will be hosted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, in partnership with the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Federal Secretariat, Canadian Heritage and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC).
Presiding over the ceremony will be Citizenship Judge George Gibault. The platform party will include Parliamentary Secretary Wong and VANOC CEO John Furlong.
