Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service.
Michael Horgan, currently Executive Director for the Canadian, Irish and Caribbean constituency at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), becomes Deputy Minister of Finance, effective September 8, 2009.
Daphne Meredith, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Public Works and Government Services, becomes Chief Human Resources Officer, Treasury Board Secretariat, effective August 31, 2009.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate Robert Wright on his retirement after a very successful career spanning 35 years in the Public Service. The Prime Minister thanked Mr. Wright for his outstanding leadership and for his dedication and excellence in serving Canadians over the years.
