OTTAWA, ONTARIO, August 5, 2009—The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, today announced the appointment of Mr. Jacques Leblanc as a director of the Canada Employment Insurance Financing Board.
Mr. Leblanc’s qualifications include 41 years as a certified accountant and 13 years as a fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. Mr. Leblanc joins the other members of the Board: Mr. David Brown, Chairperson; Ms. Elaine Noel-Bentley; Ms. Janet Pau; Mr. Pankaj Puri; and Mr. Tim O’Neill.
The directors of the Board are appointed through the Governor-in-Council process, selected from a list of qualified candidates provided by a nominating committee consisting of Mr. John A. MacNaughton, Chair; Mr. André Piché, Employment Insurance Commissioner for Employers; and Ms. Patricia Blackstaffe, Employment Insurance Commissioner for Workers.
