REGINA, September 4, 2009 - On behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Ray Boughen, Member of Parliament (Palliser), today announced funding to J.M. Curtain Razors for its series, The Movable Feast.
The Movable Feast will present a series of contemporary theatre performances in various locations throughout Regina. Curtain Razors' October 2009 to April 2010 season will present shows including Haircuts for Children and Clark and I Somewhere Else in Connecticut.
"Our Government is committed to providing all Canadians with access to quality artistic experiences," said Minister Moore. "The Movable Feast series makes a wonderful contribution to Regina's cultural vitality."
"Curtain Razors plays an important role in ensuring that Regina's residents and visitors have the opportunity to experience original contemporary theatre," said Mr. Boughen. "This investment demonstrates our Government's commitment to promoting the arts community here in Saskatchewan."

Curtain Razors. "The Movable Feast will bring to Regina the very best of contemporary theatre and performance experiences that excite and engage."
Curtain Razors was formed in 1989 and aims to strengthen and encourage community support and appreciation for professional contemporary theatre. It presents diverse, innovative shows that challenge the traditional format of storytelling and aim to enhance artistic experiences for audiences and performers.
The Government of Canada has provided $12,000 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (formerly Arts Presentation Canada program) of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program gives Canadians increased access to the variety and richness of Canada's culture through professional arts festivals, presentations of live professional performances, and other artistic experiences.
