Gatineau, Quebec, Friday, October 30, 2009 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists that the Alexandra Bridge’s southbound lane to Ottawa will be closed to vehicular traffic on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
These closures will not affect pedestrians.
These lane closures are necessary to allow for the seismic reinforcement of the piers. This is part of the planned rehabilitation of the Alexandra Bridge announced recently by the Government of Canada under its 2009 Economic Action Plan.
The schedule may change due to weather conditions.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience these lane closures may cause.
