OTTAWA – A ceremony will be held at the Cartier Square Drill Hall on 15 October at 11 a.m., to unveil six paintings commissioned by the Navy to commemorate their 100th anniversary.
The centennial paintings, created by four accomplished Canadian artists, reflect significant eras in Canadian naval history: the First World War, Second World War, Korean War, Cold War, First Gulf War and the Campaign against Terrorism. These paintings brilliantly capture some of the achievements of the Canadian Navy since its founding on 4 May 1910.
Media are welcome to cover the event and are asked to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m.

When: Thursday, October 15th at 11 a.m..
Where: Cartier Square Drill Hall, 2 Queen Elizabeth Drive, Ottawa
There will be a brief media availability following the ceremony, during which the Commander of Maritime Command, Vice-Admiral McFadden and the Project Manager of Canadian Navy Centennial, Captain (Navy) Pickford, will be available to answer questions from the media.
