Quebec City, October 2, 2009 - Externat Saint-Jean-Eudes, a private high school which is soon to celebrate its 75th anniversary, can finally boast its own football and soccer stadium, the realization of a long-cherished dream. At today's inauguration of the stadium in Quebec City, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) wanted to congratulate everyone who helped make this project come true.
“BDC is happy to be one of the financial partners for this project,” said Dany Grimard, Vice President and Area Manager for eastern Quebec. “At BDC we understand the importance of this stadium and the sports facilities that will be added to it, not just for the Saint-Jean-Eudes students but also for the community. We are proud to have played a part in this first step in a project that will give Quebec City a top-notch sports complex.” Mr. Grimard also pointed out that this financing was the result of BDC and co-lender National Bank working closely together to make it happen.
Saint-Jean-Eudes principal, Édouard Malenfant, says that BDC played a critical role in this project. “As soon as we approached BDC, we felt an openness and willingness to listen. People believed in us from the start and also offered to help us take the next steps.”
“For BDC, it's not just a question of lending money,” Mr. Grimard added. “When we analyze a business plan, it's just as important that we believe in the project and the people behind it so that we want to contribute to its success.”
BDC has two branches in Quebec City and another in Saint-Romuald to serve local entrepreneurs.
