GATINEAU, Quebec, Thursday, November 12, 2009 – Public Works and Government Services Canada wishes to advise all motorists that the Alexandra Bridge’s southbound lane to Ottawa will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9 p.m. on Friday, November 13, until 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 14.
This closure will not affect pedestrians.
This lane closure is necessary to allow for the seismic reinforcement of the piers. This is part of the planned rehabilitation of the Alexandra Bridge announced recently by the Government of Canada under its 2009 Economic Action Plan.
The schedule may change due to inclement weather.
Public Works and Government Services Canada apologizes for any inconvenience these lane closures may cause.
