(OTTAWA) – November 17, 2009 – Export Development Canada (EDC) today announced that it has provided $35 million in financing to Canada’s IMAX Corporation as part of a $75 million facility arranged by Wachovia Bank, one of the largest diversified financial services companies in the U.S.
“IMAX is a Canadian business champion with a globally strong export brand. Its new business model will help take the IMAX experience to many more theatres around the world,” said Eric Siegel, President and CEO of EDC. “Supporting leading Canadian icons like IMAX helps to expand Canada’s international reputation and to draw attention to our excellent technological capabilities.”
IMAX will use the four-year $75 million corporate facility to finance its future growth and working capital requirements.
