HALIFAX ─ The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway and Dr. Robert M. Gates, United States Secretary of Defense, will meet in Halifax to discuss a variety of issues related to Canada-United States defence relations. A brief media availability and photo opportunity will follow the meeting.

Media wishing to attend are asked to register with Joint Task Force Atlantic (JTFA) Public Affairs office at (902) 427-3766 by 09:00 a.m. (AST) on Friday, November 20, 2009, and should arrive at the venue no later than 12:00 p.m. (AST). Journalists must have valid photo identification in order to cover this event. Media parking will be available at the back of the Fort.
