OTTAWA –The Department of National Defence (DND) invites the public to vote for the People’s Choice Award in the 2009 DND Photography Contest organized by Canadian Forces Imaging Services. Celebrating its 41st year, the DND Photography Contest received a record 1816 entries from 305 talented amateur and professional photographers in the Defence community.
The DND photography contest is open to serving and retired CF members and their families. The submitted photos need to depict military life and compete in one of eight categories: military life, family life, sport, environment, animals, portrait, special effects and open.
The winning photos are available for on-line viewing and the public can vote for their favorite photos at www.dndphotocontest.ca. Everyone who votes is eligible to win a Toshiba Digital Photo Frame. The contest runs from November 16 to 30, 2009.
