Governor General to open
Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games
OTTAWA - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, is proud to open the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
"After opening the Olympic Games on February 12, I will be very proud to kick off the Paralympic Games, a celebration of winter and of sports excellence. These Games are a wonderful opportunity for all Canadians to recognize the talent and the determination of these athletes, from everywhere around the world, living the Olympic dream. It is with great enthusiasm that I will be by their side to encourage them and cheer them on during their competition," said the Governor General.
