OTTAWA-Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond are pleased to announce that Rideau Hall's skating rink is now officially open to skaters for the winter season.
Their Excellencies extend a warm invitation to members of the public to experience this unique part of Canada's heritage, which has been associated with the official residence since the time of Lord Dufferin, who was governor general from 1872 to 1878.
Skating schedules may vary depending on weather conditions. The general public is invited to skate on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 5 p.m., without a reservation. Organized groups must make reservations. Please note that this rink is exclusively for pleasure skating; hockey games are not permitted.
